Applying for a Reception Place in September 2024
At Brownhills West Primary School we follow Walsall Local Authority’s criteria for admission to our Reception. We have 30 places within our Reception setting where children are welcome to join the September prior to their fifth birthday.
Allocations are made in line with the Local Authority’s admission criteria and the deadline for the submission of preference forms is January each year.
All forms and additional information can be accessed below.
If there are more applications than there are places available, places will be allocated using the Oversubscription Criteria from Walsall Council. The following is in order of priority:
- Children in Public Care (looked after children).
- Pupils who have a sibling already in attendance at the school, or paired junior school when the application is made and who will be still attending the school at the proposed admission date.
- Pupils for whom a place at the school is essential on medical or social grounds as supported in writing by a medical practitioner or a social worker. (Applications will be subject to verification by Walsall Children’s Services).
- Distance between the home address and the school as measured in a straight line with those living closer to the school receiving the higher priority.
Nursery Places
We currently have spaces in our school Nursery. If you would like to have a look around with a view to enrolling your child, please contact Mrs Cooper or Mrs Wall on 01543 452766.
